On January 8th 2016, the world lost a key figure to UK music.

David Bowie died aged 69 in Manhattan, New York
Since then so many places and people have made dedications to this great man.
In his 69 years on earth, Bowie achieved so much as a singer/ songwriter/actor. His musical career earned him many, many awards for his work. Including The Brit Award for British Male Solo Artist, The Grammy Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as countless other awards from NME and MTV. Even after death he is having success from his music, with his latest album Blackstar increasing in sales by 5000% since his passing.
He also graced this world through his acting career. Bowie was no stranger to the world of film, being as successful a musician as he was he earned himself 400+ soundtrack credits while alive, and I daresay his music will continue to be used in film work for years to come. He also had 40 acting credits including personal favourites and classics like Zoolander and Labyrinth.
It is truly a tragedy for UK culture and, more importantly, the world of music. His career touched so many people around the world and everyone who knew him will remember him for their own reasons.
